Analyses

The research includes field experiments, laboratory analyses, statistical analyses and application of deterministic simularion models

Field expeiments: The field experiments are carried out at the Experimental Station for Erosion Control of ISSAPP Nikola Pushkarov in the village of Trastenik, district Ruse. Two field experiments with wheat and maize are carried out. In each crop, three variants of soil tillage in four replicates are tested: conventional technologies applied along the slope; conventional technologies applied across the slope; minimum tillage applied across the slope using a pre-crop before the maize to be used for green manure.

Field campaigns and indicators, measured in the field: Erosion indicators, which are determined after each precipitation, soil physical characteristics, biometric indicators and phenological observations of both cultures

Monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions: In the case of specific soil tillage, the distribution of the measurements of the indicator for CO2 and N2O emissions are carried out in three time periods: before each operation, 48 hours after the respective operation, and monthly until the end of the vegetation period of the specific crop

Meteorological and soil moisture measurements indicators: automated meteorological station ATMOS 41 and sensors for measuring soil moisture  TEROS-12.

Soil analyses: physical (hydrological, structural and thermal properties), chemical (content and composition of SOC, pH, carbonates, total nitrogen), agrochemical (ammonium and nitrate nitrogen , phosphorus and potassium forms available for plants), and Soil microbiological indicators (Microbial biomass, enzyme activity, number of the main physiological and taxonomic groups of soil microorganisms)

Mathematical simulation models:: WinIsareg, Wofost, SWAT, RothC
